THE HISTORY
GENERATIONS OF AUTHENTICITY
Rao's New York is a culinary national treasure. Widely acclaimed for its authentic, southern Neapolitan Italian cooking and home-style family ambiance, the legendary restaurant was honored with a pinnacle three stars from New York Times restaurant critic Mimi Sheraton, describing the cuisine as "exquisitely simple Italian cooking."
With a history dating back 127 years, the 10-table restaurant is celebrated as one of the country’s oldest family owned and operated restaurants running in its original location. Handing down cherished Pellegrino and Rao traditions as its main ingredients, the Rao's menu pairs generations of authenticity and love with freshness and flavor.
Now with a second home in the heart of South Beach, the iconic Rao’s can now be experienced at Loews Miami Beach Hotel in the historic St. Moritz Tower. Rao's Miami Beach invites you to celebrate the traditions and ritual at the heart of Italian cuisine and the Rao’s family way of feasting.
